REGISTRATION
ALL UNITS MUST BE REGISTERED WITHIN 10 DAYS OF PURCHASE OR THE WARRANTY IS VOID.
To register your product, complete the Warranty Registration form. Fax or mail the warranty registration form with a copy of the sales receipt to Carter Brothers. A warranty registration form MUST be on file with Carter Brothers before a warranty claim can be processed.
WARRANTY PERIOD
The warranty period starts from the date of purchase by the consumer for all Carter Brothers products. During the warranty coverage period, we will cover warranty parts and labor only.
WARRANTY:
Carter Brothers Mfg. Co., Inc. (hereafter Carter) warrants all SYM scooters from the date of purchase by the first owner, by the time period as below or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
- Frame, Electrical, & Engine Parts: all will be covered under warranty in the first full year from the date of purchase by the original owner.
- Engine Parts: the second year will be warranted for function only, any damage that does not influence the units function and any parts that are liable to wear are excluded from warranty coverage.
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS:
what is NOT covered:
- Any damage which results from neglect of the periodic maintenance specified in the OWNERS MANUAL.
- Any damage which results from repair, adjustment or maintenance operations by any method other than the method specified in the OWNERS & SHOP MANUALS.
- Any damage which results from repair, adjustment or maintenance operations performed by someone other than an authorized Carter dealer.
- Any damage which results from operation of the product at any place where no vehicle is driven ordinarily.
- Any damage which results from misuse or use beyond the limitation or the intended purpose specified by Carter, or any damage due to use under abnormal conditions.
- Any damage which results from use of parts or accessories not approved by Carter or of non-genuine parts or different quality level of fuel, lubricant or fluid not recommended by Carter.
- Any damage which result from operation, whether intentional or accidental, other than as specified in the OWNERS MANUAL.
- Any damage due to improper storage or transport.
- Any damage which results from force injure, such as fire, collision and theft.
- Any damage which results from soot and smoke, use of chemical, bird droppings, or injury by seawater, sea breeze or salt.
- Any damage due to aging such as color shading or fading of painted surface, deterioration of plated surface, deterioration of rubber and plastics or rusting.
- Any product which has participated in a racing event, rally or competition or which has been used as a rental vehicle.
- Any product which has been re-modeled or modified.
- Normal phenomena such as noise, vibration or oil seepage which are considered to be reasonable, and do not affect the quality or function of the products.
- Any product which did not have periodical maintenance performed accordingly.
Parts NOT covered, such as:
Spark plugs, contact points, condensers, fuel strainers, oil filters, drive chains, air cleaner elements, brake pads, brake shoes, clutch disks, bulbs, fuses, motor brushes, gaskets, packing, tires, tubes, batteries, rubber hoses, grommets, rubber cushions, step rubber, belt oil, grease, radiator coolant, brake fluid and other consumable and normal wear and tear items due to lack of scheduled maintenance or consumer abuse. Modifications to this product that are not Carter approved modification or parts will void the warranty. Defective parts are subject to recall by Carter upon failure and are required to be held by the dealer or service center until the warranty claim is settled.
