Manufacturer's Defects. North American warrants the parts in our engine and drive train to be free of manufacturer's defects for the first six months from the date of purchase. With the exception of "Maintenance" & "Normal Use" items, the remaining non-drive train components are covered for a period of three months from the date of purchase.
Date of purchase. Date of purchase is the date when the End Purchaser takes delivery of the product. That date is determined by the Warranty Registration card and Retail Sales Receipt on file.

GET THE RIGHT SIZE BIKE - GET THE RIGHT TRAINING
Riding ATVs is an exciting sport but without proper training and properly sized equipment, it can be a very dangerous sport. At CROSSRUNNER we have developed a lineup of ATVs built around the new 2007 SVIA/ANSI design specifications for maximized safety. The old specification dictated ages based on engine size. However the new specification is based on maximum speed regardless of engine size - a much safer guideline for responsible manufacturers to follow.

SVIA 2007 AGE CATEGORIES FOR YOUTH BIKES
CROSSRUNNER ATVs are designed with safety in mind. Our ATVs are built based on the voluntary safety standard produced by SVIA using design recommendations from ANSI. SVIA is the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America, a non-profit organization dedicated to safe operation of ATVs. ANSI is the American National Standards Institute which has as members, many engineering specialists; some who make recommendations on ATV design to maximize safety. For more information on SVIA and ASI, visit www.atvsafety.org
In 2007, SVIA published an updated standard. The old standard, published in 2002, designated appropriate ages for riders based on the engine size of the particular ATV. These guidelines looked like this:
- Age 6 through 11 - 70cc or smaller
- Age 12 through 15 - 90cc or smaller
- Age 16 and up - over 90cc
While this was an improvement over having no standard, this engine sized criteria did not address the speed of the bike. Speed is actually the most important criteria when specifying a safe age for the rider.
The new 2007 standard, which is available in book form from SVIA, is based not on engine size but on speed. Here is a summary of how the new age guideline is set up:
- "Y10" Age 6 through age 9: 10 mph (or 16km) maximum set at the factory, 15 mph (or 24km) maximum if all speed limiting restrictions are removed.
- "Y10" Age 10 through age 13: 15 mph (or 24km) maximum set at the factory, 30 mph (or 48km) maximum if all speed limiting restrictions are removed.
- "Y10" Age 10 through age 13: 15 mph (or 24km) maximum set at the factory, 30 mph (or 48km) maximum if all speed limiting restrictions are removed.
- "Adult" or "G" Anything over 30 mph top speed is limited to Adult use only.
Understanding this new standard is important. CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Counsel) utilizes information from ANSI and SVIA. In addition, it is likely that many states / provinces will adopt this new standard as a basis for ATV legislation. It is a good idea to comply now, rather than retrofitting the bike with safety devices later.
